Cancelling Your Subscription

How to cancel your SafeVault Pro subscription and what happens to your data after cancellation.

How to Cancel

You can cancel your SafeVault Pro subscription at any time with no penalty or hidden fees.

  1. Open SafeVault and go to Settings → Subscription
  2. Click Cancel Subscription
  3. Enter your master password to confirm
  4. Select a reason for cancelling (optional)
  5. Click Confirm Cancellation

What Happens After Cancellation?

Immediate Effects

  • Your cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period
  • You keep full Pro access until that date
  • No further charges will be made

After Your Billing Period Ends

  • Your account reverts to the free plan
  • You keep access to your first 50 passwords
  • If you have more than 50 passwords, they remain in your vault but become read-only — you can view and copy them, but not edit or add new ones until you're within the free limit
  • Secure sharing links you created remain active for 30 days, then expire
  • Your data is never deleted due to cancellation

Can I Get a Refund?

SafeVault offers a 30-day money-back guarantee on your first Pro subscription:

  • If you cancel within 30 days of your first Pro payment, you're eligible for a full refund
  • Contact support with your account email to request a refund
  • Refunds are processed within 5–7 business days

Annual subscriptions can be refunded within 30 days of renewal for the unused portion.

Re-subscribing

Changed your mind? You can re-subscribe at any time:

  1. Go to Settings → Subscription
  2. Click Upgrade to Pro
  3. Choose your billing cycle and payment method
  4. All your Pro features are restored immediately

If you re-subscribe before your current billing period ends, you'll be placed back on Pro seamlessly with no gap in service.

Deleting Your Account

Cancelling your subscription is different from deleting your account:

  • Cancel subscription: Reverts to free plan, data preserved
  • Delete account: Permanently removes all data from SafeVault servers

To delete your account entirely, go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. Export your vault data first — this action is irreversible.
